We know that even thinking about something new can be a bit overwhelming... so we have tried to anticipate some of your concerns and questions. Like...
WHERE DO I PARK, IS THERE HANDICAP ACCESS? When you drive up you'll notice that most folks park in the front parking lot although there is some parking around the back of the church building. If you have any kind of difficulty handling stairs, parking around the back would be the best option for you.
DO YOU HAVE SUNDAY SCHOOL? Sunday school classes for both adults and children begin at 9:30 and go till about 10:15. Louis DeLaura is currently teaching our adult class and Susan Barnett is teaching the children's class. Both classes meet in one of our school classrooms and are not hard to find!
WHAT TIME IS YOUR SUNDAY SERVICE? The Worship Service starts at 10:30 and runs until noon.
DO YOU HAVE ANY PROGRAMS FOR KIDS ON SUNDAY? A NURSERY? With the exception of the monthly Family Service, where the kids stay in with their families, kids up to age 10 are have the option of attending Children's Church during the Message time. We also have a Nursery for babies every Sunday. On our monthly Family Sunday we also have a fellowship meal together afterwards. If you are fortunate enough to be visiting us that day come on down and enjoy the food and fellowship.
ANY OTHER KIDS PROGRAMS? On Wednesday nights, during the school year, we have Awana Clubs for age 3 through 8th graders. On Sunday nights our teens meet.
WHAT ARE YOUR SUNDAY SERVICES LIKE? On Sunday mornings we express our love for God and for one another in a variety of ways such as singing together and praying for each other. People dress in a very casual way and the messages our Pastors preach are clear, relevant, down to earth and based on Biblical truth. The music is led by a worship team and is a blended style of traditional and contemporary with a bit of 'country' flavor. We often view both funny and inspiring video clips as well as occassionally enjoying a presentation from SIGNS OF LIGHT, an interpretative dance team or sometimes a short skit or responsive reading.
WHAT OTHER WEEK DAY PROGRAMS DO YOU HAVE? Our ACTS 29 Bible Institute is now up and running on Tuesday nights. These classes are for teens through adults. Awana Clubs will be starting in the Fall for kids age 3 years through high school. Teens also have the option of attending the classes offered at ACTS 29. We also have a Ladies Fellowship which meets the last Sunday of every month after church and a Men's Fellowship who meet together periodically... more often than not to do service projects together. We have a food ministry which helps many families in our local area and we also have various outreach opportunities throughout the year that whole families can get involved with. There is also a Daycare Program and Afton Christian School for Pre-K 4 through 8th grade.
